PC Optimization

These simple Windows optimizations dramatically improve performance and the overall experience when running our web app in Chrome. These practical tips help reduce lag, free up resources, and ensure smoother, more reliable daily use.

1. Tab Management

Limit the number of tabs open in your browser to five in order to have efficient browser operations.

2. Clear Cache in two easy steps

a) Click on the three dots at the top right and scroll down to Clear browsing data

b) First makes sure that your “Time range” at the top is “All time” and then make sure that ONLY “Cached images and files” is checked and click on “Clear data”.

3. Unnecessary startup operations

Go to Settings: Apps: Startup and remove any apps you don’t use or need that automatically start up when you start your computer. It can put a strain on your resources and slow your computer.

4. Device Management

Remove the old “prefetch” service by disabling SysMain. It may be slowing your system down.

a) Type “services” into the search bar at the bottom of your PC screen which will bring up the “Services” console. Scroll down to “SysMain.”

b) Then make sure it is in “disabled” mode under Startup type and not “automatic” by double clicking on the SysMain line and then scrolling to disabled under “Startup type.” Make sure you hit “Apply” to finish.

5. Schedule anti-Malware

Finally, please schedule anti-malware scans outside of your work hours.
